How to connect a Trezor to Rabby Wallet

Open Trezor Suite and unlock your Trezor, then in Rabby choose an existing address, Hardware Wallet and Trezor. Approve the Trezor Connect request in Trezor Suite to share your public keys, and Rabby adds your first address. On mobile, Rabby pairs with the Bluetooth Trezor Safe 7.

Quick steps

  1. Open Trezor Suite. Connect and unlock your Trezor in Trezor Suite, entering a passphrase if you use one.
  2. Choose Trezor in Rabby. In Rabby select the option for an existing address, then Hardware Wallet and Trezor, and set a Rabby password if asked.
  3. Connect Trezor. Select the button to connect the Trezor so Trezor Connect opens in Trezor Suite.
  4. Approve the request. Confirm the permission and the accounts to share in Trezor Suite, verify the key on the device and close the window.
  5. Add addresses. Rabby adds Trezor 1. Use the option to add more addresses from Trezor if you need them, then open the wallet.
  6. Sign on the Trezor. For each transaction, compare Rabby's preview with the details on the Trezor screen before approving.

With a Trezor, your keys never leave the device. Rabby only receives public keys so it can show balances and prepare transactions, and you approve each transaction on the Trezor. The steps below follow Trezor's own Rabby guide, which runs through Trezor Suite (Trezor guide, 2026). Trezor announced that Rabby integrates with Trezor Connect in December 2025 (Trezor on X, December 2025).

What you need

  • Any Trezor model. Trezor says all its devices work with Rabby, though some networks are not available on the Model One (Trezor guide, 2026).
  • Trezor Suite on your computer, with the device set up and its firmware updated.
  • The genuine Rabby extension. Install it from the link on rabby.io and check it with our verifier.

Never type your Trezor recovery words into Rabby or any website. Trezor and Rabby will never ask for them.

Connect step by step

  1. Open Trezor Suite and connect the device. Plug in your Trezor (or connect over Bluetooth if your model has it) and unlock it with your PIN. If you use a passphrase, enter it now; the passphrase wallet is separate and must be active for Rabby to see its accounts.
  2. Start in Rabby. Open Rabby, select "I already have an address", then "Hardware Wallet", then "Trezor". If you have no Rabby password yet, set one. It unlocks Rabby only and Rabby cannot reset it. Then select "Connect Trezor".
  3. Approve in Trezor Suite. Trezor Connect opens inside Trezor Suite. Review the permission request and confirm. Suite shows which accounts will be shared; only public keys are shared. Confirm again, use the verify option to compare the key on the Trezor screen, then close the window.
  4. Finish in Rabby. Rabby adds the first address and names it "Trezor 1". To add more, select "Add more addresses from Trezor". When you are done, open the wallet.

Labels above are quoted from Trezor's guide and may differ slightly between Rabby versions.

What you see on the device

Trezor says the Model T, Safe 3, Safe 5 and Safe 7 show smart contract transactions in plain language (clear signing), while the Model One shows raw data (Trezor guide, 2026). On any model, compare what Rabby's simulation predicts with what the device shows. If the recipient, amount or action differs, reject it.

Passphrase and derivation paths

  • Passphrase wallets are separate wallets. If balances look wrong, you may have entered a different passphrase or none.
  • Address order. Addresses are shared in sequence, so a later address may not appear in Trezor Suite until earlier ones have been used.
  • Derivation paths. Different paths give different addresses from the same Trezor. Trezor advises switching paths in the add-more-addresses screen only to match addresses from another wallet; otherwise keep the default.

Day-to-day use

Once connected, you only need the Trezor when you sign. Rabby shows balances and DeFi positions without it. When a dapp asks for a transaction, Rabby shows its simulation, then hands the request to the Trezor through Trezor Connect. Keep Trezor Suite available, unlock the device and approve on its screen.

It helps to keep a second, low-balance Rabby address for trying new dapps, and to use the Trezor address for long-term holdings and apps you trust. Rename the Trezor addresses in Rabby so they are easy to tell apart. Review approvals given from the Trezor address now and then, because the hardware wallet does not stop a contract you approved from spending later. See revoke approvals.

Trezor with Rabby mobile

Rabby supports the Trezor Safe 7 on both the extension and the mobile app, and the mobile app connects to it over Bluetooth (Rabby on X, October 2025). Other Trezor models have no Bluetooth, and we could not confirm a cable connection for them in Rabby mobile as of October 2026. Use them with the extension. See supported hardware wallets for the full matrix.

If you forget your Rabby password

Your Trezor accounts are not affected. Trezor's guide says to reinstall Rabby and reconnect the Trezor. There is no Rabby seed phrase to restore for a hardware account. For seed-phrase accounts in the same Rabby, see Rabby forgot password.

Assets you only see in Rabby

Trezor notes that assets on networks Trezor Suite does not support appear only in Rabby. They are still controlled by your Trezor keys. Keep your Trezor recovery backup safe, because it restores these addresses too.

If it does not work

  • Make sure Trezor Suite is open, the device is unlocked and the firmware is current.
  • Check that the right passphrase wallet is active.
  • Update Rabby and the browser, then try again.
  • For general problems, start with Rabby not working.

Frequently asked questions

Which Trezor models work with Rabby?

Trezor says all its devices work with Rabby, with some networks unavailable on the Model One. On mobile, Rabby connects to the Bluetooth Trezor Safe 7.

Do I need Trezor Suite open?
