Rabby Wallet browser extension: install and check it
The Rabby extension is installed from the Chrome Web Store and works in Chrome and other Chromium browsers such as Brave and Edge. The official extension ID is acmacodkjbdgmoleebolmdjonilkdbch. There is no official Firefox or Safari version.

Check the extension ID
The real ID is acmacodkjbdgmoleebolmdjonilkdbch. Copycat extensions use the same name and logo but always have a different ID. To check an installed extension:
- Type
chrome://extensions(orbrave://extensions,edge://extensions) into the address bar. - Switch on Developer mode.
- Find Rabby Wallet and compare its ID character by character, or paste it into the Rabby extension verifier.
If the ID is different, remove the extension and follow the steps on fake Rabby wallet scams.
After installing
When the extension opens for the first time, you can create a new wallet, import a seed phrase or private key, connect a hardware wallet or add a watch-only address. You will set a password that unlocks Rabby in this browser only. Full walkthrough: set up Rabby Wallet. Moving from MetaMask: import MetaMask into Rabby. Using a Ledger: Rabby with Ledger.
Using Rabby alongside MetaMask or a browser wallet
Most dapps look for one injected wallet. If you also run MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet or Brave's built-in wallet, they compete. Rabby has a "Flip" switch on its dashboard that chooses whether Rabby or MetaMask answers dapps, with a list of dapps where MetaMask should stay preferred. A separate MetaMask Mode lets Rabby connect when a dapp only shows a MetaMask button. If a dapp keeps opening another wallet, check the Flip setting, disable the other wallet extension, and refresh the page. In Brave, set the browser's default Ethereum wallet to use extensions rather than the built-in Brave Wallet (Brave Settings, Web3 section). More fixes: Rabby not showing in a dapp.
Hardware wallets in the extension
The extension supports the widest range of hardware wallets of any Rabby version: Ledger, Trezor, OneKey, GridPlus Lattice1, BitBox02 and imKey connect directly, and Keystone, NGRAVE ZERO, CoolWallet and AirGap Vault connect by QR code. Safe multisig accounts are supported too. Ledger and some other USB devices use the browser's WebHID support, so the browser may ask for permission to access the device the first time. Close other apps that use the device, such as Ledger Live, before connecting. Guides: Ledger, Trezor and Ledger not connecting.
Privacy notes
Like most wallets, Rabby fetches balances, prices and simulation results from its own servers and from network RPC providers, which means those services can see your addresses and IP address. If that matters to you, use a separate address for activity you want to keep apart, and consider adding your own RPC for networks you use often (see custom networks in Rabby).
Updates
Browsers update store extensions automatically, usually within a day or so of a release. You can force a check on the extensions page with Developer mode on and the Update button. Never install an "update" offered by a website or pop-up: a real update never comes as a download link.
Using Rabby in more than one browser
Each browser profile has its own separate copy of Rabby with its own password. To use the same wallet in a second browser, install Rabby there and import the same seed phrase, or connect the same hardware wallet. The password does not carry across.
Browser security tips
- Keep as few extensions as possible. Any extension with permission to read pages could, if compromised, tamper with what you see.
- Consider a separate browser profile just for crypto, with only Rabby installed.
- Lock Rabby when you step away and set a short auto-lock time. Keep the extension updated: an August 2026 fix closed a bug that depended on a longer auto-lock setting.
- Pin Rabby to the toolbar so you always open the real one rather than a pop-up that looks like it.
- Rabby never asks for your seed phrase in a web page. Support never DMs first.
If the extension does not work
Common causes are a conflicting wallet extension, an outdated browser, or a browser-specific bug. Start with Rabby wallet not working. Do not uninstall Rabby before you have your seed phrase written down, because removing the extension deletes the encrypted keys from that browser.
Frequently asked questions
Does Rabby work in Brave?
Yes. Install it from the Chrome Web Store. If dapps open Brave Wallet instead, set Brave's default Ethereum wallet to use extensions in Brave's Web3 settings.
Does Rabby work in Microsoft Edge?
Yes. Install it from the Chrome Web Store after allowing extensions from other stores in Edge.
Is there a Rabby extension for Firefox?
No. There is no official Rabby add-on for Firefox, and Rabby-branded Firefox add-ons found in 2026 were malware.
Can I run Rabby and MetaMask at the same time?
Yes, but they compete for dapp connections. Use Rabby's Flip switch to choose which one answers dapps, or disable MetaMask while you use Rabby.
What happens if I remove the extension?
The encrypted keys stored in that browser are deleted. You can restore the wallet only with your seed phrase, private key or hardware wallet, so back it up first.
