Rabby vs Zerion: two portfolio-first wallets compared
Rabby is the cheaper and more DeFi-focused choice for EVM chains, with a 0.25% swap fee and many hardware wallets. Zerion suits people who want Solana and EVM in one wallet with a strong portfolio view, and its Premium plan cuts the swap fee to 0.25%.
Rabby and Zerion both grew out of DeFi portfolio trackers. Rabby is the wallet of DeBank, and its portfolio view uses DeBank data. Zerion was a portfolio dashboard before it became a wallet. Both are self-custodial. The main differences are chains, fees and hardware support. Facts were checked on 25 October 2026.

Fees
Sending crypto is free in both apart from gas. For built-in swaps and bridges:
- Rabby: 0.25%, with 0% on stablecoin-to-stablecoin swaps, wrapping and native-to-liquid-staking swaps, 0.12% for single trades between $100,000 and $1 million and 0% above that (Rabby source code, October 2026).
- Zerion: 0.67% service fee on swaps and bridges. Zerion Premium subscribers pay 0.25%, and holders of Zerion's Gold DNA NFT pay nothing (Zerion help centre, February 2026).
On a $1,000 swap that is $2.50 in Rabby against $6.70 in Zerion without Premium. If you pay for Premium, the per-trade fee is the same as Rabby's default, so the subscription cost decides which is cheaper for you. Both wallets also pass through any fees charged by the DEXs they route through. See Rabby swap fees.
Chains and portfolio view
Zerion's biggest advantage is Solana. One Zerion wallet shows and trades both Solana and EVM assets, and it also lists Tron. Rabby cannot hold Solana, Bitcoin or Tron at all. On EVM, Rabby integrates more networks and lets you add any EVM chain as a custom network; Zerion covers the popular ones and many newer layer-2s. Check that your chains are listed before you choose; see Rabby supported chains.
Both show DeFi positions, not just token balances. Rabby uses DeBank's data, which is one of the most detailed DeFi position trackers. Zerion's web app is a full portfolio dashboard you can use from any browser. Rabby also supports watch-only addresses inside the wallet.
Safety
Rabby's pre-sign checks are among the most detailed available: balance changes, decoded approvals and permits, and a set of risk rules you can view one by one. Zerion shows a plain-language preview of what leaves and enters your wallet, the requesting app and the fee, and flags known phishing sites and spam tokens.
Both publish audits. Rabby's are by SlowMist and Least Authority, most recently in August and October 2026. Zerion lists Cure53, SlowMist, Zokyo and Secfault Security.
Neither has had its wallet code exploited to steal keys. Rabby's 2022 incident was a flaw in its Swap contract that let an attacker take tokens users had approved to it. Zerion's incidents were operational: in June 2023 an attacker took over Zerion's Twitter account and promoted a fake airdrop, and Zerion said it would reimburse affected users; in April 2026 a staff member's device was compromised in a social-engineering attack that Zerion linked to North Korea, costing about $100,000 from internal wallets. The lesson for both: a fake "airdrop" post, even from an official-looking account, is the classic scam. Rabby never asks for your seed phrase. Details are in Rabby security history.
Features
- Hardware: Zerion supports Ledger only. Rabby supports Ledger, Trezor and many others; see Rabby hardware wallets.
- Web and desktop: Zerion has a web app. Rabby has no web wallet, and its old desktop app stopped working after 31 December 2025.
- Gas: Rabby's Gas Account pays gas on supported chains from a stablecoin balance.
- DeFi tools: Rabby adds automatic chain switching, an approvals manager, Safe multisig and Hyperliquid perps.
- Extras: Zerion offers a paid Premium tier and its own layer-2, Zero, which appears in its network list.
Platforms
Rabby offers a Chromium browser extension (Chrome, Brave, Edge, Opera) and iOS and Android apps; its old macOS and Windows desktop app stopped working after Rabby shut down its backend on 31 December 2025. There is no official Rabby add-on for Firefox, and Rabby-branded Firefox add-ons found in 2025 and 2026 were fakes. Zerion offers iOS and Android apps, a web app and a browser extension that has also been available for Firefox since 14 October 2025 (Zerion blog). If Firefox is your browser, that alone may decide it.
Using both, or switching
The same seed phrase gives the same EVM addresses in Rabby and Zerion, so you can try one without moving funds. Your Solana balance will only show in Zerion. If both extensions are installed in one browser, a dapp may open the wrong one; Rabby has a default-wallet setting to fix this, explained in Rabby not showing in a dapp. When you change wallets, it is a good moment to review old token approvals; Rabby's approvals page shows them per chain, see how to revoke approvals. Rabby will never ask you to enter your seed phrase anywhere except its own setup screen.
