EVM address checker and look-alike comparison

Paste an address to check its format and EIP-55 checksum, and paste a second one to compare them character by character. Address poisoning scams rely on look-alike addresses that share the first and last characters. Everything runs in your browser.

One address, every EVM chain

Rabby gives you a single 0x address that works on Ethereum and every EVM network it supports, such as Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, BNB Chain and Polygon. Tokens only exist on the chain you send them on, so the sender must choose the same network you expect. Rabby is EVM-only: it cannot receive native Bitcoin, Solana or Tron. See Rabby supported chains.

What the checksum catches

Mixed-case EVM addresses carry an EIP-55 checksum: the pattern of capital letters is calculated from the address itself, so most typos break it. An all-lowercase address has no checksum, so a typo can still look valid. A checksum cannot tell you whether an address belongs to the right person.

Address poisoning

Scammers send zero-value or tiny transfers from addresses that match the start and end of one you use, so that the fake appears in your history. Copy addresses from the recipient or from your Rabby address book, never from transaction history, and compare the whole address. More in Rabby scams.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool send my address anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser.

Can a valid address still be wrong?

Yes. A checksum only catches typos. A scammer's address is also valid, so compare it with the recipient and check the whole thing.

I sent tokens on the wrong EVM chain. Are they lost?

If you sent them to your own Rabby address, no: switch Rabby to that chain or add it as a custom network and they will appear. If you sent them to an exchange on a chain it does not support, contact the exchange.
